I left, power leveled to 18, got what seems to me like pretty decent gear, like a salthopper mandible and a spiked shield, and leveled my carapace to +7 AV. The ion packet will rarely penetrate, so you won't benefit from crits on it I think. Only the electrical damage from the Arc winder is relevant. Spaser pistol releases plasma around the target, which debuffs resistances, increasing the electrical damage from the Arc winder. Instead you will find yourself investigating and exploring the world around you. A combo of Spaser pistol and High voltage Arc winder is pretty great. I guess most classic roguelikes are like that, but Qud uses that black space to its fullest potential. ![]() EDIT: I got through with the help of everyone's advice, thank you! In Caves of Qud, the white space is actually black, adding to the dreamlike feel of it all.
